As a mom who has managed two international flights and numerous road trips and weekend getaways with my 6-month-old daughter, Mia, I’ve learned (the hard way) that packing the right gear can make or break your travel experience. Between cabin pressure changes, inevitable diaper blowouts, and a curious baby who touches everything in sight, I’ve come to rely on a few products that truly save my sanity. Here are my top three toddler travel essentials that I never leave home without.

1. Alpine Baby Headphones

I once thought noise-canceling headphones were a luxury—until I found myself in the middle seat of a loud airplane, desperately trying to lull my little one to sleep. Alpine Baby Headphones have been game-changers. Not only do they reduce the volume of in-flight announcements and roaring engine noise, but they’re also super soft around the ears, ensuring Mia isn’t fussing with them every two seconds. Mia actually loved wearing these and napped so much more easily on our flight. They also have adjustable sizing, meaning you can use them for multiple trips from age 0 all the way up to 3.

Why They’re Worth It
  • Comfortable fit for extended wear
  • Significant noise reduction, especially helpful during takeoff and landing
  • Adjustable headband for ages 0-3

2. Ubbi Changing Mat

Public restrooms are never my favorite place to handle diaper changes, but when you’re traveling, you don’t have any other option. We all know the changing tables are of questionable cleanliness, which is why I prefer to bring my own changing mat. The Ubbi Changing Mat is lightweight, easy to clean, and folds up into a neat little pouch that slips right into my diaper bag (and keeps it separate from the rest of my supplies). I love that it’s cushioned yet thin enough to not bulk up my bag. After a quick wipe-down, it’s ready for the next stop.

Why They’re Worth It
  • Waterproof and easy to wipe clean
  • Compact design, saving space in your diaper bag
  • Completely phthalate-free and baby safe

3. Boogie Antibacterial Hand Wipes

Every mom knows how quickly those tiny hands reach for just about everything. Boogie Antibacterial Hand Wipes give me peace of mind every time Mia decides to explore yet another airport bench or restaurant table. They’re alcohol-free and gentle enough for her sensitive skin. Plus they come in slim, travel-friendly packaging that easily fits into my carry-on.

Why They’re Worth It
  • Antibacterial to help keep your child’s hands (and face) clean on the go
  • Alcohol-free formula made with aloe that won’t dry out or irritate delicate skin
  • Convenient, travel-friendly packaging

Final Thoughts

Traveling with a toddler will never be totally stress-free, but having the right tools on hand can make everything smoother. Whether you’re facing a long-haul flight or a short weekend getaway, these three products go a long way in keeping your little one comfortable, clean, and (hopefully) content. Safe travels!
